Warwick Apprentice- THE FINAL

There were only 4 teams in the final and could be only one winner. At 7.30pm we were given the final challenge- to create a new product for one of the companies listed. By midnight we still could not decide what our product was going to be. I was keen to push for Louis Vuitton as our company choice and, of course, eventually I had my way and we went with ski wear for Louis Vuitton.

Ok, ski wear is not an innovative product idea, but it is new to Louis Vuitton and the more we began to conduct market research, the more it made sense as a product diversification for the Louis Vuitton house. Below is the Powerpoint which accompanied our 10 minute presentation and the video concept we put together to illustrate the themes behind our product.

I have a business module this term where we have to create our own business, a business plan, a presentation etc. This challenge was essentially the same, but in less than 24 hours instead of 10 weeks.

We had a 12 page report which accompanied our presentation and had been up until 4pm on thursday night, and all day friday working on the final challenge. Our presentation went really well and I completely smashed the questions asked as fashion is pretty much my thing (haha).
In fact, we worked so hard on this whole week that when it came to waiting for them to decide the winner I don't think I have ever been so nervous! I'm not sure what I would have done if we had lost, I probably would have cried, but thankfully we didn't, we won. Winners of a £1000 for the team and of a hot ticket to the national semi-finals.

It was an absolutely mad week, I skipped too many hours of lectures (shhhh) but it was completely worth it and the team's hard work and dedication to the tasks completely paid off. It's all a bit surreal and I kind of feel like I just won an oscar but it shows what you can achieve if you work hard. A big thank you to all who swapped stuff/bough stuff off us/put up with my moaning all week.
Hopefully now I can get back to that 2000 word essay that I have been ignoring since last weekend.
