Photoshop- creating prints

We had a workshop on photoshop, spending the day recapping basic skills and learning how to create basic and more digital patterns and prints. I had worked a bit on this previously during my work experience at Topman but it was good to refresh my skills and learn some new things that I hadn't covered before.

For me, I found the more digital photographic prints more interesting, both in creation and to look at visually afterwards. The print below was created using photos of flowers, recolouring these, multiplying them etc.

This is essentially created by producing an image, so in this case my collection of flowers, and then defining this as a pattern, and using this defined pattern as a background on a different image. By using the offset filter you are able to play with the areas between the images in order to create a more flowing pattern.

By taking an image and defining this as a brush, i was then able to use this brush, alter the opacity and the colour of the brush to create a layered print of flowers in all different colours, giving the print and altogether more textured feel. (see below)
